The Birdfoot Festival marks the ten-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina with “Waterlines,”  a concert that honors the palpable and invisible legacies that remain after the storm passes and the water recedes. This evening’s program mixes interludes by spoken-word artist Kataalyst Alcindor with powerful musical works including Debussy’s La Mer and selections from Thomas Adès’s Arcadiana, as well as works by Kaija Saariaho and Samuel Barber. Join us for this musical journey of memory, identity, and redemption.

Note: This concert will be preceded at 6:00 p.m. by a free companion event, Waterlines – Poetry and Spoken Word, 7:15 p.m. performance given by participants in Birdfoot’s Chamber Music Mentoring Program.
